How did Moohoodles start streaming?

She started on Twitch in May 2014, intending at first to stream video games. In an interview for Planetary Radio she said she brought her love of space into those streams from the start, and remembered talking about Mars and the possibility of life there while playing Fallout 3 in early 2015.

Space was already a long-running interest. She says she ran the astronomy club at her college and has always been obsessed with astrobiology. Her Twitch bio says she began in Astrophysics, switched, and finished with a degree in Computer Science, while her passion stays with astrobiology. She also lists software engineer, photographer and environmentalist among the things she is.

Her YouTube channel holds clips from the same early years. One Black Desert Online clip titled "She would snort" is marked as the channel's 50th video, from a stream on March 16, 2016.

Space news streams and the Planetary Society

Her recent stream titles follow a pattern: a space and astrobiology news segment first, with games later. A run of September 2026 broadcasts opened with that news block and then moved on to World of Warcraft: Forever or a No Man's Sky expedition.

She credits Bill Nye as a big early inspiration and says he once answered a question of hers. She also says the LightSail solar sail mission is what got her to join The Planetary Society, after she received a small piece of LightSail in 2014.

Planetary Radio host and producer Sarah Al-Ahmed has joined her on stream more than once. A stream marking the 60th anniversary of Star Trek was titled with Sarah from the Society, and The Planetary Society announced an Asteroid Day stream with the two of them for June 30.

Rocket launches and TwitchCon panels

In October 2024 she attended the NASA Social for the Europa Clipper launch at Kennedy Space Center and streamed the Falcon Heavy liftoff on October 14. It was her first rocket launch, and she told Planetary Radio she sat there and cried for a while in awe. Another attendee, Matt Todd, wrote in his recap that she had much fancier streaming gear than he did.

She appeared on panels at TwitchCon 2024, including one with NASA, and posted that the Saturday panel felt like a culmination of ten years of bringing educational content to Twitch. At TwitchCon 2025 she co-hosted The Planetary Society: Space, Time, and You with Sarah Al-Ahmed on October 19, the last day of the convention.

Her stream archive also has a September 2026 broadcast titled Roman Telescope Launch, live from Kennedy Space Center.
